Los debates sobre el terrorismo bajo el signo de la Guerra contra el Terror: aportaciones desde la Sociología Política

Resumen

Este artículo ofrece una mirada sociopolítica sobre los debates contemporáneos en torno al terrorismo. Parte de tres presupuestos: 1) la violencia política y su explicación sólo pueden comprenderse en su contexto sociohistórico; 2) su estudio requiere un esfuerzo reflexivo; 3) las explicaciones sobre el terrorismo influyen la dinámica sociopolítica. A partir de ellos se examinan los debates académicos sobre el terrorismo y se inscriben en la dinámica ideológica de la Guerra contra el Terror. Se argumenta que, tanto la violencia como su explicación han de comprenderse en el marco del conflicto. Para avanzar en esta idea, se recuperarán los marcos sociopolíticos de análisis trayendo el conflicto al primer plano y situando el terrorismo en la intersección entre lo internacional, lo social y lo político.
