El libro —junto a otras muestras de propaganda política, producidas por el PCE— fue utilizado por esta organización para reforzar la presencia de dicho partido en la insurrección asturiana, con el deseo de realzar su imagen pública y fortalecer su posición política ante el gobierno del Frente Popular.</p><p><strong>Palabras clave: </strong><em>Sangre de octubre UHP</em>, Manuel Navarro Ballesteros, literatura proletaria, insurrección de Asturias, PCE.</p><p><strong>Abstract: </strong></p><p>October Blood UHP (1936), written under a pen-name by the journalist and political leader Manuel Navarro Ballesteros, is a «direct testimony of the events that took place during the Asturias Revolt» in October 1934 and one of the most prominent examples of proletarian literature ever written in Spain. Among other political propaganda works produced and boosted by the Communist Party of Spain (PCE), this essay was used to reinforce the party’s presence in the aforementioned revolt, in order to highlight the PCE’s public image and to strengthen its political position towards the Popular Front government.</p><p><strong>Key words: </strong><em>Sangre de Octubre UHP</em>, Manuel Navarro Ballesteros, proletarian literature, Asturias Revolt, PCE.</p> ER -
