Abstract
A new interpretation of the origina documents about the painter José Moreno (Madrid, circa 1630/1637 -Burgos, 1677) allow for a restatement of the image of his family life and profession. In this context, and with the addition of new paintings, this revision helps to better undersatnd his role within the madilenian school of Barroc. The last stage of his life remains set in Burgos between 1674 and 1677.
